5 Types of Pests to Watch out for

We live right alongside many pests, whether at home or at work. They are ubiquitous and can create problems if the property is invaded. They have also adapted to living with us by being sneaky in regard to their invading our space.

It is recommended that you have your home or office checked by a professional pest control company regularly, even if the pests are not visible, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t there.
Here are five pests that can be particularly hard to detect.

Fleas

Homes, where there are dogs or cats, are especially prone to fleas, so special protection measures are required.
Vacuum the carpets where pets sleep, wash their beds every week at a temperature above 50 º. Learn more about fleas. Having your pets on some sort of flea and tick prevention helps tremendously with the control of these nuisance insects as well. Learn more about the most common pests

Flies and mosquitoes

The so-called “house flies” can transmit diseases such as salmonella, tuberculosis, or cholera. Avoid attracting them by leaving food in sight or standing water where they can leave their larvae. In addition, it is useful to close the windows and doors when the sun goes down and run the curtains so that they do not approach the light because they are attracted to light and food.

Moths

Although they do not pose a risk to human health, their presence in the houses causes significant damage to the clothes, carpets, and fabrics they find in their path.
Like flies, they are attracted to lights, so we should try to keep windows closed at night or cover them with mosquito nets.
They love dirty clothes, so it will always be better to wash it before storing it. The surface under the furniture should be vacuumed regularly to eliminate the eggs.

Wasps

This type of insects can become a major threat, especially for people allergic to their bites.
To know where the swarm is located, we have to observe the route they take when they come back from pecking “flower in bloom.” Once our objective is defined, the first step will be to pay attention to common sense and keep the windows and doors close to the nest tightly closed.

If the wasps have already chosen, for example, the roof of our home to stay, we must be careful not to approach or do anything they can interpret as an attack. In this case, we can only call the professionals.

Moles

These small excavators are capable of weaving an extensive network of tunnels in the subsoil, causing the appearance of mini volcanoes of land throughout the garden.
Little can be done to get the moles to pass by our lawn. In this case, we have to change prevention by direct action when the problem has already appeared. There are many products on the market to control or suppress this pest. There are organic products that “contaminate” the moles’ food source, causing the moles to find the earthworms and other insects that they’re feeding on unpalatable. Therefore, they simply move on to a source of food that hasn’t been contaminated.

Just because you don’t see them with your own eyes, doesn’t mean they are not destroying your property and putting your health into danger. Examine your home or business regularly by professionals to avoid potentially larger issues in the future.
